CRAFTING & CONTEXTUALIZING

CHOREO - POEMS

First coined in 1975 by Poet / Playwright Ntozake Shange, a choreo - poem is a form of dramatic expression that combines poetic text and dance.  This course is offered for dancer/choreographers seeking to generate text and writers seeking to incorporate movement into their work.

Artists can create new work or bring in one performance piece (5 min or less) that they would like to workshop. Through a series of prompts, we will explore the sonic and kinetic impulses that exist within the meta-narrative of the work and bring them to the surface.

What Queen GodIs does in her workshops goes beyond mere words. I have been to two of them in just over the last year and neither one was like the other. . . . You will leave the workshop different from how you were when you entered. She has a way of making us better artists and more importantly, better people. I highly recommend that you book her for a feature and/or, a workshop.
You will not regret it.
